AVF on top in Alcaniz practice

The 2016 season finally went underway for AVF by Adrian Valles at the Motorland Aragon today, in the first out of the nine Formula V8 3.5 on the schedule. The Spanish squad went straight to the spotlight in Alcaniz with Frenchman Tom Dillman, who scored the second fastest lap of the day at the end of the two free practice session. In the AM segment, Dillman quickly joined the frontrunners, confirming the great job done throughout the preseason and taking the best out of the laps completed in qualifying trim. In the afternoon, he rounded out the top-10 after completing some long runs.
Alfonso Celis scored 10th and 9th place respectively as he was prevented from using new tires by a gearbox issue. Tomorrow, qualifying 1 will go underway at 10:20 AM, while Race 1 is scheduled for 14:20 PM.

    Alfonso Celis (#15) - FP1 - 10° 1’42”128; FP2 9° 1’42”392
“I think first session was all about recovering after not running last week here at 100%. We have to look at qualy, as the team set P2 and I still have a set of new-tyres to put on. Unfortunately, as I was still getting some issues with gear shifts, I couldn’t properly finish my morning running. It seems we found the issue and solved it, so my new tyre run was not affected by problems and I’m beginning to really feel the car”.

    Tom Dillmann (#16) - FP1 - 2° 1’41”108; FP2 - 10° 1’42”630
“This morning we focused on qualifying runs as it was the same time of the day compared to tomorrow’s schedule. In the afternoon we went to race simulation. When we saw the pace, we went out with low fuel but nothing spectacular came out. Now we have to wait for the first qualifying session of the year”.
